I’m not sure if I just invented a recipe for sugar-free bonbons, but I might have…  I just used things I had around the pantry, and they turned out well, so I thought I’d share. I used solely my eye to measure the ingredients, so feel free to do the same. However, here are some guidelines:

Ingredients (makes about 10 bonbons):

• 8 tsp honey
• 1-2 tsp cocoa
• 1 tsp powdered milk
• crumbled nuts (I used hazelnuts).
• mint essence

First off, I heated the honey in a small pot, stirring continuously. Over low heat, I mixed in the cocoa (add more if you want the bonbons more chocolatey), and then the powdered milk. If the consistence is too thick already, just add more honey. Next, mix in the nuts, as many as needed to get a relatively solid consistence. Throw in a drop of mint essence and mix before turning of the fire.

On a sheet of baking paper, use a teaspoon to make small oval shapes of the above mixture. Once they cooled down, use your palms to shape balls, i.e. bombons. They will be very sticky, so you may want to store them on pieces of baking paper. Alternatively, you could roll them in coconut, powdered sugar or whatever strikes your fancy.

Denim has long stopped being a word in my vocabulary – and my wardrobe. I don’t know that I’ve ever worn this popular fabric on the blog – except for a tote I have – so choosing this denim piece from Chicwish was a huge step for me. I was delighted by the cute polka dots and the slight oversize. The whole denim shirt idea kind of takes me back to my childhood in the early 90s. Back then, all we kids wanted was owning a “jeans suit”, with pants, a shirt and, ideally, a mini skirt. Next on my wishlist: a denim pinafore.

I was looking for macaron pics today when I ran across this sweet Etsy shop: Qiqikoko. I wish I knew more about the crafty person behind the shop, but all I got is that she’s based in Shanghai. And that her coin purses are adorable! Not only will you find the Tour Eiffel or some pretty lace on the macaron-shaped coin purses, but also cats! I guess cats in human clothes are a bit tacky, but I do like them in this context… What do you think? Other products for sale include small clutches and pillows – which I heart.

One of my favorite bloggers, Ale of Rosaspina Vintage, just launched a handmade clothing line yesterday! She got me really excited with the sneak peeks, because I knew the collection could only be to my taste. Ale designed the pieces herself, while her mom made them, using vintage fabrics from grandma’s stash. That is one of the most beautiful stories I’ve heard around a brand! The collection consists of two dress designs, a full skirt and a bow button-down, the separates being available in a few different versions. My favorite dress is already sold out! 1. I don’t know when I’ve become so infatuated with Carey Mulligan, but I like her more and more! Now, with all the hype from her upcoming movie, she’s on all the magazine covers and all over the internet. I just love her editorial for Flaunt – it’s so high fashion and atypical!

2. The whole idea of the Stay Home Club is so me! Now they’ve launched a new set of cards (passive aggressive paper goods) and they’re awesome.

3. Again with Oysho! They have a new line of beachwear now – swimsuits, stylish coverups, gorgeous bags – and I’m coveting this emerald two piece. Oh, and everything else. Please come back to Cluj?

4. Ping Pong shop sells vintage and retro decor, and now they’ve relaunched with a whole new batch of mid century goodness.

5. I’ve been loving Ashley‘s outfits and photography lately, and especially her trendy scout outfit, with splendid printed shorts. Not only are they high waisted, aka perfect, but they’re from Uniqlo, aka best brand for pants.

If you ever check out the blog sidebar, you might have noticed two ladies folding paper hearts and smiling – these ladies are also known as Delicate Doilies, and finding vintage gems and jewels is their passion. A while ago, they sent me a lovely package – you could spot it from miles in the post office, since it was the only box with cats drawn all over! It’s really nice being spoiled like that, and I very much appreciate it when people I haven’t met in real life know what I like! One of the wearable things they sent was this delicate polka-dotted blouse, with puffy sleeves and a babydoll cut. I realized it would look really good under a dress – and so my entirely red outfit was born. I’ve never been one for sports – I might have played the occasional football i.e. soccer as a kid, but I was never any good. And when you’re not good as something, there’s no fun in it, right? So, while I have no pleasure in practicing or watching team sports, I can see the appeal in using an old sports field or a school gym as a background for a photoshoot. Swedish Hasbeens has done it successfully in a past collection, and now the ball is in Victory‘s court (haha). They’re actually selling Swedish Hasbeens, as well as Sugarlips and Maison Scotch, but also vintage and apothecary items. Awesome, I know. How pretty is this denim dress? As much as I tried to stay away from denim all these years, this dress has the perfect shape and, I think, could be worn to pieces. Back to the lookbook, I love the styling – it’s casual and even classic, but with a twist coming from the high clogs.
