DIY Sweater Pillow
The thing with “things” in our house is that they quickly get covered in cat hair. It’s a downside, but it’s worth it when the capricious master of the house throws us a bone. Anyway, she’s a fan of wool, so she quickly claimed this pillow as her own, as soon as it was stitched. Whether you have a cat to serve or not, this pillow will look great on the couch!
What you need:
- an old sweater
- scissors
- thread & needle
- sewing machine (optional)
First, I laid the sweater flat on the table and cut a large square, through both sides at once. On the wrong side of the fabric, I stitched three sides of the square. I used a sewing machine to make it quick, but you can hand stitch it if you have the time. I filled it with an old pillow, but you can use anything from fabric scraps to actual wool. I pinned the fourth side as pictured above, and used an invisible hand stitch to close it.
That’s that! Lizzi really enjoyed it – and I find the sweater pattern to look very cozy around the house!

Love the pillow. Think I’m gonna try it :)
