Outfit: cats and wedge sneakers

One of the things I decided to do this year (or, as some would call it, my resolution) is to buy less s**t and more (useful) quality pieces . Trust me, even the one with “going to the gym” was easier than this one! Like some of you, I’m drawn to sales and bargains, and I often use shopping as therapy. Whenever I’m into something new, the first thing I want to do is shop for it: new crafting project? Let’s buy supplies! So, when I won a chunky gift card to Lulu’s in a giveaway, my first impulse was to spend it on as many dresses as possible. Yes, that would’ve meant two pretty dresses and maybe an accessory, but don’t I already have dozens of dresses? I do. So I decided to do the smart thing and get myself a pair of shoes from Matiko. They’re sneaker-style, unlike anything else I own (do you tend to buy things in similar styles? I do), and discounted from $199, they’re the most expensive shoes I have. I regretted my decision for a while, as the shoes were doing very bad things to my feet, but now that I broke them in, we make a happy couple.
Loving so many things about this outfit! The sweater with the black and white printed shirt underneath, the skirt and the sneakers I think are pretty cool and here to stay. So, good choice! – Carla

Shoes are always a good investment, glad to hear they’re not causing problems anymore. There’s nothing worse than beautiful shoes that are killing your feet!
I realized I tend to buy super fancy or out-of-the-ordinary pieces (especially if they ‘re on sale) and I have a closet full of unusual clothes an not enough basic pieces to combine them with. So I’ll try, as you said, to invest in quality rather than quantity.
This is a super cute outfit, btw… I love the sweater so much!
