DIY bow boots

I recently got some very pretty rubber boots: tall, navy, simple and sleek. And as much as I like them, I would also like the option of changing them up a bit. Not in a permanent way, cause I love how classy they look now; just something temporary. You know, like bow clips. A DIY was in order, so I did one.

What you need:

  • a pair of (rubber) boots
  • ribbon (the wider, the prettier)
  • thread and needle
  • earring clips (you could also use paper clips)

Cut two pieces of ribbon, equal in size. Tie them into bows using this technique (which I personally learned in kindergarten). The next step is to fix the bows on the earring clips – just make sure that you consider their final position on the bow. Next, stitch the bows to the earring clips. You can glue them if you want, I just prefer stitching.

That’s it! Clip the bows to the back of the boots and you’ve got yourself something special to wear on rainy days! Then simply take them off when you feel the need for a change.
