Love you to the bone
I am not one to wear statement jewelry. I like a chunky piece as much as the next girl, but we’re almost never seen together in public. Honestly, I don’t even wear jewelry all that much, in spite of my ever-growing collection.
But this week I saw something I really liked, a new line of (mostly statement) necklaces called Bone. The designer behind this line is Ioana Liliana Gheorghe of Fashezine, a Romanian blogger very dear to me (although we only met virtually).
The necklaces are precious and drool-worthy, and the styling is in perfect concordance with the jewelry and the message – slight nudity included. According to the designer, “This first BONE collection is not intended as a manifesto against the general concept of romanticism and love, but only against superficial love which is being given and taken with great ease, and which came to define contemporary society.”
Ioana mentions on her blog that she’s been inspired by literature, music and painting – and that’s visible in the label’s site as well, where everything is perfectly arranged, and there are book quotes here and there, complementing the necklaces.
The combination of colored stones, small skulls and gold metallic elements is priceless. My favorite piece is the Rose Smoke necklace, pictured below.
