DIY: gift tags

I made these pretty gift tags yesterday and thought I’d share them with you, in an easy step-by-step tutorial. Here’s how it goes:

You need:

  • pieces of brown or white paper
  • pieces of colorful, printed cardboard
  • a perforator – I picked one shaped as a festive deer, but it can be a normal, round one, too
  • scissors
  • glue
  • pen
  • string or ribbon

Cut a rectangular shape and perforate it at one end. Make the other end interesting by rounding the corners, cutting them off, or whatever else you can think of.

Next, cut a small piece of paper and write the name of the receiver – extra points if you have a typing machine around the house, which I don’t. Then glue the paper on the cardboard.

It should look something like this. Then cut a piece of string, which you will pass through the shape you previously perforated.

Tie it with a knot and you’ve got yourself a gift tag! Go wild with different shapes and sixes – the gifts will look good in their pile under the tree!

If you want your gift to look like this picture above, check this DIY for gift wrapping.
